Yad Vashem and Museum of the Bible Enter Formal Agreement to Strengthen Holocaust Commemoration and Education Efforts Across the World

Yad Vashem and the Museum of the Bible signed a formal cooperation agreement on Thursday, August 18th, 2016 to strengthen ties between Jewish and Christian communities and support Yad Vashem’s Holocaust commemoration and education efforts across the world.

The agreement, called the “Declaration of Cooperation,” was signed in Washington, D.C. at Yad Vashem’s 2016 Christian Leadership Seminar by Director of the International Relations Department at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, Shaya Ben-Yehuda and President of Museum of the Bible Cary Summers

Museum Of The Bible Installs First Exhibit Item: An Exact Replica Of The Liberty Bell

In June of this year, The Spirit of Liberty Bell traveled to Washington, DC, becoming the very first exhibit item to arrive at the Museum of the Bible, which is still under construction. The full-scale replica of the original Liberty Bell was gifted to the museum by Dr. Peter Lillback, founder of the Providence Forum, and received by the museum’s curator of Americana, Norm Conrad.

Museum of the Bible Releases Research Findings on 13 Unpublished Dead Sea Scrolls Fragments

Today Brill, a leading international academic publisher, released the first in a series of volumes based on research sponsored by Museum of the Bible. Edited by Emanuel Tov (Hebrew University, Jerusalem), Kipp Davis (Trinity Western University) and Robert Duke (Azusa Pacific University), the volume contains findings on 13 previously unpublished Dead Sea Scrolls fragments, a number of Hebrew Bible fragments and one non-biblical fragment. It is the culmination of four years of research that involved some 50 scholars comprised of a core editorial team, 11 chapter authors and 35 co-authors.

The Museum of the Bible announces its multi-faceted partnership with YouVersion, the creator of the popular Bible App that features 1,367 Bible versions in 1,007 languages and has been downloaded more than 230 million times and in every country in the world.

When the 430,000 square-foot Museum of the Bible opens its doors in Washington D.C. in November of 2017, the YouVersion partnership will be visible throughout the museum.
